Terms and Conditions

Thank you for booking with Herriot’s in Hawes. We look forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of your booking below.

The price includes accommodation and breakfast between 08.15 & 09.00. Unless clearly stated on the booking confirmation form, all extras such as additional meals, are at an extra cost. Our diary has to remain fluid at all times, this means you may end up using an alternative room from the one you may have booked, this is to cover all eventualities.

We do not accept pets at Herriot’s Guest House.

Children & Babies

Children are charged at the same rate as adults. For the comfort of other guests, parents are expected to supervise their children at all times. If you are bringing your young baby, please inform us at the time of booking and they must be able to sleep throughout the night- without disturbing others.

For the comfort of all guests and staff, Herriot’s Guest House is strictly non-smoking throughout. Any guest who fails to respect this policy will be requested to leave immediately and will be charged for extra cleaning costs starting at £50.

There is an unloading/ loading bay immediately to the front of our building, for you to unload your luggage; we then suggest you try to park on the small one-way system or wherever else is available, mid afternoon onwards there’s not usually any problem within 75m of Herriot’s, without any time restrictions.

We ask guests to arrive between 16:00 and 19:00. Arrivals outside this time are usually possible, but only by prior arrangement. If you are delayed and/or expect to arrive later than 19:00, please ensure that you contact us (01969 667536) to let us know what time you expect to arrive. We do not accept any arrivals after 10pm. Failure to notify us may result in reception being closed and your booking will be treated as a ‘no-show’ (see the ‘Cancellation and Insurance’ section below).

On the day of departure, guests are requested to vacate their rooms and check-out by 10:00. Herriot’s Guest House reserve the right to charge for any guests vacating their rooms after the above times.

Damage and Breakages

Please take care when staying at Herriot’s Guest House. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damage which you cause to the accommodation and/or its contents. All we ask is that you report any incident as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge if you do not report this.

Methods of Payment

We accept final payment by card or by bacs transfer before your stay.

Deposit Payment

We take a non-refundable deposit equivalent to the value of your first nights accommodation.  £100 per person for Herriot Way guests at the time of booking.

Cancellations and Insurance

Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel your booking, please contact us immediately. For cancellations made more than 14 days before the arrival date, you will not be liable for any further outstanding balance (exclusive of 1st nights deposit). For cancellations made within 14 days of the arrival date or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling (i.e. ‘no-show’), you will be liable for the total outstanding balance. For this reason you should consider taking out appropriate insurance, obtainable from any good insurance broker.

Non-availability of Accommodation

We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the booking. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves, or our employees, or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
